Abstract:
Cemeteries of Wyandotte County, KS as a point feature GIS dataset in ESRI shapefile format in KS N State Plane coordinates using NAD83 datum, in units feet. Cemetery locations are symbolized by a point in the approximate center of cemetery grounds. All cemetery types are represented here, including private, public-maintained, religious, and historic (generally old cemeteries that are abandoned or have not had interments for a long time). Attribution accompanying features includes name, address, type, and comments. Companion GIS datasets in this series include cemetery properties dataset, cemetery grounds, cemetery planimetrics (line), and cemetery building footprints (polygon). This is considered the authoritative GIS cemetery dataset series for Wyandotte County, KS.
Purpose:
To serve as a supplemental cultural GIS dataset to enrich Unified Government's Enterprise GIS system.
