Abstract:
Polygon feature GIS vector dataset of golf course grounds located in Wyandotte County, Kansas, furnished as an ESRI shapefile format file in Kansas North State Plane Coordinates, Datum NAD83, Units US feet.

Based on golf course ownership polygons sourced from GIS tax parcels. A related dataset, golf_py, is strictly ownership polygons while this dataset has been modified from it to include golf land use outside current ownership polys in Sunflower Hills Golf Course. 

This dataset includes public and private golf courses.

Purpose:
Dataset developed as a supplemental cultural features layer for use in the Unified Government's Enterprise GIS. It is most useful for general feature mapping at 1:1200 to 1:7200 scales.

Golf course polys were determined by review of existing golf course layer in "Sites" dataset, and compared with digital ortho aerial imagery. In a few cases, golf land ownership had changed from that depicted in original Sites golf features (compared with current tax parcels) and were adjusted accordingly.

Where golf course ownership boundaries did not jive with actual golf course land use (notably in Sunflower Hills Golf Course), poly extents were edited to include such land.
