It has been expanded to include attribution for other political jurisdictions tied to ward/precinct polygons, as enumerated in this Metadata's description section.

Abstract:
GIS polygon feature layer dataset (presented in Esri shapefile format, units feet, datum NAD83) presumably derived originally from census blocks. Represents present-day political boundaries.Contains voter ward and precinct boundary lines within Wyandotte County, Kansas, including Kansas City, KS, Bonner Springs, KS, Edwardsville, KS that portion of Lake Quivira, KS within Wyandotte County, and the unincorporated remnant of Delaware Township.Ward/precinct polygons carry attribution information for corresponding city names, county names, UG Commission district numbers and incumbent commissioner names (including At-Large districts/commissioner names), BPU board member district numbers and board member names (including At-Large members), Kansas House districts and incumbent representative names, Kansas Senate districts and incumbent Senator names. Kansas senate districts that straddle Wyandotte County and extend into Leavenworth or Johnson or shown in their entire geographical extent in this dataset. .
Purpose:
Supports the Unified Government's Enterprise GIS (E-GIS) system as a source of political jurisdiction geography. E-GIS users and applications rely on this spatial layer for cartographic representation of city, ward and precinct boundaries and determination of location of registered voters.
This dataset is also a master layer for maintaining other political boundary layers tied geographically to ward and precinct boundaries, namely Unified Government Commission districts, Board of Public Utilities board member districts, city limits, county limits, Kansas House districts, and Kansas Senate districts.
The intent is that future maintenance of all the above political boundary GIS datasets will occur in this ward and precinct master layer, and then be exported out to individual theme (e.g. UG Commission districts) datasets as needed.

Original ward and precinct dataset (Ward and Precinct boundaries Wyandotte County, Kansas) was extensively revised and updated. Ward/precinct boundaries were compared against City Limits (city_limit_py) polygon dataset for accuracy. Some ward/precinct boundaries were modified to match corresponding city limits boundaries (city limits layer was deemed most locationally accurate).
Ward/precinct boundaries were then reviewed for overall accuracy and modified as necessary (e.g.: where street/stream changes indicated a reconfiguration of corresponding ward/precinct boundary this was subsequently done).
Additionally, table schema was modified to allow additional attribution for other political geographies tied to ward/precinct boundaries, namely county names, UG Commission district numbers and incumbent commissioner names (including At-Large districts/commissioner names), BPU board member district numbers and board member names (including At-Large members), Kansas House districts and incumbent representative names, Kansas Senate districts and incumbent Senator names. Kansas senate districts that straddle Wyandotte County and extend into Leavenworth or Johnson were copied and pasted in this dataset (from the original KS Senate polygon layer , ks_senate_py, maintained by GSS).

Redistricting-- Election Office (Matt Woehrle) contacted GSS and provided redistricting information for consolidation of precincts and wards. This first attempt at redistricting was not approved by Kansas Sec of State. In Feb 2014 Matt provided us with a scaled-back redistricting scheme that was implemented in this dataset. This involved merging certain districts or renumbering precincts, and revising certain VTD assignments. Current boundary configuration is the new approved (2014) Wards and Precincts for Wyandotte County, KS
